The Wickets is an 80 bedroom care home in Southampton. Located on Banister Road, near the former Hampshire County Cricket Club ground which inspired the name, the building has been designed to sit comfortably within its residential setting, with the massing broken down through a series of stepped forms, glazed links and varied rooflines.

The external appearance is defined by a combination of red and buff brick, giving the elevations a simple but distinctive character while responding to materials commonly found in the surrounding area. Recessed balconies and terraces are incorporated to provide residents with access to outdoor space and to add depth and articulation to the façades.

Internally, the care home comprises individual rooms for residents, with communal lounge and dining areas arranged to encourage social interaction and a sense of community. Facilities include a cinema, café/coffee shop, pub/bar and hair salon, alongside secure landscaped gardens with sensory planting, water features and seating areas for residents and visitors.
